After the equipment which has been installed, successfully, on board of the air-carrier Garibaldi of the Italian Navy and those delivered to the shipyards in Brest for the two units, Mistral and Tonnère, of the French Navy, Elex Italia has been awarded another important elevator to be installed in a new vessel of the French Navy, which is under construction at the STX shipyards, in Saint Nazaire.

This number of important realizations actually entitle Elex to have its chair in the exclusive club of the lift makers for the marine industry.

The Elex technology is more and more present in the business of the big industrial plants, not only with their elevator for heavy loads, but also with those suitable for safe operation in the hazardous areas, for example in atmosphere contaminated by explosive dusts (a kind of environment which is classified, from the major code systems, as Class II G by the NEC, for the U.S.A., and as Zone 21/22 by the European CENELEC).
Elex Italia has developed in this technology a deep experience, since longer than two decades, which the recent take-over of Sideron has amplified; Elex Italia is now present, quite massively, in all the most important countries of the world, from Russia to India, to Saudi Arabia, Iran and Taiwan.
The know-how produced from their R & D allows Elex to face, professionally and successfully, the requirements expressed from the most reputed contractors active in the petro-chemical ndustry like IHI, Toyo, Daelim, NIOC, SAIPEM, a.s.o.
Elex Italia has been awarded for two important projects in Saudi Arabia, North of the Gulf, with a number of industrial elevators to be installed in an atmosphere contaminated by explosive dusts

The special components, developed by Elex for these kinds of applications go from

the automatic either doors and vertical gates in the explosion proof version,

to the explosion proof brake for the hoist-machines and other important devices located in the lift shaft

from a special device (earthing the metallic parts in motion for preventing the raise-up of dangerous over-voltages) to the special treatment for the surfaces of the lift steelworks.
